Khanh is 42 and a painter.
During the 80s he worked for the secret Vietnamese police in the department of Ministry of Culture. Here his work consisted of monitoring and controlling the community of artists in Hanoi.
After 18 years in the police he chose to leave his job and resign from The Communist Party after which he started as an avant-garde artist.
Today he is one of the best know artist in Vietnam, and his controversial opinions to art as exponent for consciousness and sexuality – and thereby freedom – is not welcomed by the system.
